 | Template:No article text is shown when viewing an article which doesn't exist. The content depends on whether the user is permitted to create the page. MediaWiki:Newarticletext is a related message, providing the default editnotice when editing a page which doesn't exist (as long as no specific editnotice has been created), provided the user has the permission to create the page. When the user has no such permission, MediaWiki:Nocreatetext is shown instead. This interface message or skin may also be documented on MediaWiki.org or translatewiki.net. The page forms part of the MediaWiki interface, and can only be edited by administrators and interface editors. [edit]User:Pppery, can we eliminate the transclusion showing at Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Ns:Gadget? For some reason, it (along with Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Ns:Gadget definition) just showed up today in the database report. I don't know what changed. Thanks! [edit]On talk page archives, the "page" tab on top gives redlinks, because it incorrectly backforms a page title. E.g.
Since this template already does a bunch of logic, how hard would it be to automatically detect and correct this? Note that we already seem to have something like this for Smith (disambiguation (note the missing end parenthesis).
- Did you mean: Smith (disambiguation)?
My thinking here is to just automatically detect if the page title has /Archive or /archive in it, and if so, say something like this, e.g. for Talk:George W. Bush/Archive 1 linking to George W. Bush/Archive 1 it would say:
- Did you mean: George W. Bush?
If anyone has a reason why this would be stupid or harmful, let me know, otherwise I intend to start working on a modification that fixes this. jp×g🗯️ 00:11, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
